Overview

The finding space has become more competitive after Apple launched AirTag (April 30th, 2021) and Samsung launched SmartTag/SmartTag Plus (January 14th, 2021, and April 16th, 2021 respectively). AirTag and SmartTag Plus are UWB enabled and introduce new visual finding experiences—via arrows or Augmented Reality (AR). To maintain our status as the market leader and improve our customers' finding experience, we’re going to launch UWB Tile (A.k.a Tile Ultra) on Android by early 2022. Strategically, this launch is also an important step in strengthening our partnership with Google.

 

What problem/s are we solving?

  • The current finding experience does not provide any directional or distance information.

  • One of the top 5 issues customers have consistently raised is that Tile’s audio is not loud enough.

  • The finding market is more competitive than ever now that Apple and Samsung have entered this space. We need to continue to innovate and provide a superior finding experience for our customers. Otherwise, we’ll lose market share to competitors.
